The homepage of Piehole.tv is as entertaining and animated as you could imagine, with a colorful cartoony collage splashed across the brand’s signature pink. “Kickass Explainer Videos” is typed in bold font.

While its branding is fun, Piehole.tv takes its mission of empowering businesses very seriously.

“We make promotional videos that get people excited about your product,” founder Priscilla Kennedy writes on Linkedin. Her company, which she founded in 2012, is a full-service video production agency. But it also acts as a production partner, aiming to keep clients on budget and on brand. Her team offers an array of video products for small to medium businesses, such as brand explainers, product videos, TV ads, how-to videos, and more. The company saves business owners from having to deal with overpriced, fancy production agencies.

Kennedy, who’s based in Ireland, studied Drama at Stellenbosch University in South Africa followed by a postgraduate diploma in copywriting at AAA School of Advertising. She worked in advertising agencies as a writer for many years before starting her own business, an online voiceover service for which she appeared on the Dragon’s Den TV programme in Ireland.

She then recognized an untapped need for creating exciting animated video content for B2B services and so Piehole.TV was born. “Our typical client wants something amazing and is serious about their brand, but doesn’t necessarily have a Hollywood budget for each project,” she says.

From fun animated explainers to super realistic software demo videos, Piehole.TV takes complicated concepts and transforms them into succinct marketing videos. The ultimate goal is to engage the target customer, no matter the industry.

Here, Kennedy shares more about her journey as founder of Piehole.tv:

What is your goal as the founder of Piehole.tv?

Our mission is to "enlighten and delighten." We have a 10-year plan to be the most awesome video production agency in the industry.

What was the biggest challenge you’ve faced as an entrepreneur?

Pivoting from being a voiceover website to a full-scale video production house. We started in our living rooms, eventually moving into a tiny sweaty office and finally to our swanky headquarters.

Can you describe a proud moment or milestone for your company?

Launching our "nerd academy" to teach unemployed people in South Africa to find work online.

Can you share any words of wisdom or lessons-learned for other aspiring entrepreneurs?

Be razor-focused on your client's success. In the beginning we spent too much time on our own marketing and not enough on things that help our clients achieve success.

Why did you decide to choose .tv for your company web address?

It's short and it looks and sounds cool!

Do you recommend it to other founders in your category?

Yes. Do it! It's great to be different. Life's way too short to have a boring domain!
